The Maryland Terrapins took the field in College Park for their 2d day of preseason practice Tuesday. The Terps remained in but helmets, and will go to put on shoulder pads for the start time this Wednesday.

The players spent a good portion of Tuesday'southward practice doing private position drills.

Later drills, the team focused on the running game with 11-on-eleven work. Head coach Randy Edsall and offensive coordinator Mike Locksley gave all three running backs in contention for the starting job—Wes Brown, Albert Reid, and Brandon Ross—plenty of work during this time.

Later during practice, Edsall brought the squad together for 2-minute drill work. The Terps' offense struggled during this stretch of exercise. The showtime squad offense was able to get ane first down off of the legs of quarterback C.J. Brown. However, that first down was all they were able to push across. Over the course of about six or seven plays during the drill, Brown was unable to successfully complete a unmarried laissez passer. The second team law-breaking was unable to do any ameliorate than its first team counterparts. On the first play of the 2nd team's drive, quarterback Caleb Rowe's pass was deflected and intercepted past the defense.

Following that interception, Edsall moved the ball down the field and had the team practise blood-red zone work. The offense fared much better this fourth dimension around. Brown was able to hit sophomore tight end Andrew Isaacs and senior wide receiver Deon Long on consecutive plays to start the bulldoze. Then Brown finished the drive off himself on the side by side play past running it in for the score.

Both the first and 2d team criminal offense establish some success during carmine zone portion of practice. Still, the defense would once again get the best of the offense during more 11-on-xi work to finish practice.

The squad will practice once again Wednesday in the afternoon.
